Welcome to the new blog, where our Creative Director and Designer Rob Lynch, fills us in on life with Dogissimo and more!
“Hello all! As the creative head of the Dogissimo Team, everyone thought it might be an idea for me to write a regular blog so that you can get a feel for the brand and also keep up to speed with what goes on at this crazy place! So here goes..
2015 has been such a busy year for us, not only have we ramped up our focus on getting the brand out there but we have also been busy working on new collections for this spring.
Clothes and fashion have always been a big part of my life and I’ve always taken a keen interest in new seasonal trends and emerging brands, so for me, creating stylish and fashion forward garments for the dogs I love was the perfect outlet for my creativity and vision and one which has now become Dogissimo.
I often get asked where my inspiration for designing new garments comes from and I suppose the answer to that is everywhere! (As you will probably discover over the forthcoming months as I write this blog!) We are inspired by catwalk trends because our human customers are very stylish individuals (That’s you then!) who expect the same level of desirability & trends echoed through what they put on their dogs as they wear themselves, so that is a key form of inspiration for us. My background in music production is also reflective in design, for example our geometric design on our Florence coat started life as a waveform and the print became a direct visual image of that. I’m also inspired by music videos, film, art and of course dogs! Our dog family here at Dogissimo are a big inspiration to all of us and the reason behind why we created the brand. From having in-house models who are always keen to strut their stuff in our range in front of the camera, through to helping us test and tweak all our designs before they get the final sign off by the team here, the dogs are an integrated part of what we do and will always tell us honestly if they like wearing something or not! And as all dog owners will agree, they are great levellers, our best friends and always make us smile, whatever tribulations life brings!
Look forward to sharing more with you in my next blog, till then!”
