Welcome to the new blog, where our Creative Director and Designer Rob Lynch, fills us in on life with Dogissimo and more!
It’s been a busy month here at Dogissimo hq. Not only have we been inundated with orders (Thanks everyone!) but also huge new deliveries of stock, so it’s been all systems go since our return after the Christmas break.
We’ve appointed a PR agency to help us get the brand out there and we have some really exciting partnerships soon to be announced, so keep an eye out for further news on that front! We’ve also been mingling with some celebrities recently (Well, kind of!) And we are delighted that our growing base of super stylish do fans now include Instagram star Bulldog_Daisy. Daisy can be seen modelling our Florence coat on her account, so do take a look, the pictures are brilliant and give us a follow if you haven’t already!
We’ve also been busy sourcing fabrics for our spring/summer 2016 collection and some of the team were lucky to get a trip overseas to Portugal for meetings with our technical fabric team. Meanwhile, with deadlines looming, I’ve been chained to the design table, creating drawings and ideas and then applying it to some of the fabrics, which our team returned with a few weeks ago.
Once I have created the designs and matched them with the right fabric, we will then make up the first samples, which is always such an exciting time: Seeing my drawings translated into garments is never dull and for any designer its such a buzz seeing one dimension sketches transformed into actual garments. Then, from this working sample we will tweak, add, remove and improve until we are ready for the Dogissimo models to ‘roll’ (Literally) with it! We will make up working samples for each of our breeds to try out, wear, roll and run in them, before we decide if they are good enough to go into production for your dogs! So, keep an eye out for any dogs wearing something a tad special as they could be our dogs strutting their stuff in the name of work!
Till next time…. Rob
